So Much More than Prescription Savings - Enjoy Health Care on Your Terms

Real Time Health Pass gives you access to Discount Drug Network pricing

While this discount cannot be combined with Medicaid, Medicare or Insurance Coverage, it often offers pricing that is lower than insurance co-pays,
particularly for generics or for drugs not covered by your insurance plan.

Below is a quick breakdown of the differences between Medicaid, Medicare and
Insurance coverage and how the Real Time Health Pass card works within the three.

Insurance Coverage

Those with insurance coverage can benefit from the Real Time Health Pass program in the following ways below.

Pre-Negotiated Pricing

Our prices are by and large better than the negotiated rates for beneficiaries while the beneficiary is in the coverage gap or “Donut Hole”, as it is often called. This means for those who have Medicare and reach the coverage gap but will likely not get out of the coverage gap, the Real Time Health Pass program can help them keep their out-of-pocket expenses lower by using our card instead of their Medicare benefits when purchasing their medications during the coverage gap.

Lower Cost Pricing

High copay plans. Prescription copays have increased over the years, especially for generic medications. Real Time Health Pass pricing is such that for generic medications, our price is often times better than a $10/$15.00 copay. The higher the copay, the better the chance we have of saving the patient money on their purchase.

Shrinking formularies

Formularies have been shrinking over the last several years and there are many medications that are just flat out not covered by prescription plans. In these instances, Real Time Health Pass fills in the gaps there and helps the patient have access to their meds and sustains adherence.

The education piece here for those with insurance coverage is to always check the Discount Drug Network price compared to your insurance coverage price, whether that is a copay or deductible situation.

There are many times we win that pricing battle. This is most prevalent for generic medications as opposed to brand medications. Brand medications are expensive and even with a high copay, it will most times still be cheaper than the Discount Drug Network discount for the brand medication.

So, we focus on the generics with insured patients as generic medications are at about 90% usage in the U.S.

Medicare

Medicare is a federal program. The Real Time Health Pass, in partnership with Discount Drug Network, can help Medicare beneficiaries in the following ways below.

Better than Negotiated Rates

Our prices are by and large better than the negotiated rates for beneficiaries while the beneficiary is in the coverage gap or “Donut Hole”, as it is often called. This means for those who have Medicare and reach the coverage gap but will likely not get out of the coverage gap, the Real Time Health Pass program can help them keep their out-of-pocket expenses lower by using our card instead of their Medicare benefits when purchasing their medications during the coverage gap.

Offset Your Medical Costs

Medicare coverages offer many different kinds of formularies and there are more than a few times where a Medicare formulary does not cover certain medications at all. In these instances, the Real Time Health Pass card can be used to offset the costs of those medications not covered on their Medicare plan.

In all instances, the patient needs to check the price on our card and then ensure the pharmacist is running their transaction on our card and not utilize their Medicare plan. This is the education piece that is most important to get across when dealing with Medicare.

Medicaid

Medicaid is state run and, by and large, is providing medication at zero or very close to zero cost for the patient. There are times when Real Time Health Pass can help if there are specific medications not covered by Medicaid, but they are few and far between.

Medicaid is means-tested and qualifications are based on income. This is not a large market or focus for Real Time Health Pass, but there are areas we can help.
